Mermaids at London2011

Posted on September 19th 2011

Take a dive with Marcel Wanders and "Mermaids" at the London Design Festival.

Dive under the water during the London Design Festival and be enchanted by Marcel Wanders’s most recent promotional project for Moooi.

“Mermaids” is a series of photographs that entices the viewer into getting into the water and swimming around Moooi’s designs. On the underwater journey one can expect to find “Raimond” by Raimond Puts, “Miyake” by Arihiro Miyake, “Heracluem” by Bertjan Pot and “Dear Ingo” by Ron Gilad.

Moooi’s London showroom, The White Building, will see this gallery space transformed into the bottom of the ocean.

Wanders tells more about the installation: “To be submerged into water is to be in a place free from the constraints of gravity, free to explore a multidimensional universe. Here, like Atlantis, the world of Moooi is enveloped in water, fit for discovery. I invite you to join the mermaids in this alternative state of being.”
