Gumtree makes TV debut

Posted on August 22nd 2010

Everybody's favourite classified ads website, Gumtree has made its debut on the small screen.

The popular classified ads website, Gumtree, has ventured into the television realm in the UK.

Design studio Airside teamed up with ad agency Beta London to create a simple, yet unique, piece about just how easy it is to buy and sell in your local community using Gumtree.

The animated ad illustrates the ease of transacting by visually representing a tree in the form of a notice board. Characters then place various items in the tree’s branches which others then climb to reach for the products they want.

The characters in the ad are all voiced by real Gumtree users who were recruited through a call to action on the website.

Gumtree has some 13.7 million users in the UK.
