Shoal is a 50-metre long installation inside the Corus building on Toronto’s Waterfront. Created by Troika, this public art project consists of 467 fish-like objects suspended from the ceiling, and covered with iridescent colours.

The fish constantly rotate to create a shimmering light effect. The rhythmic way in which these elements rotate, mimic the movement of interdependency of a school of fish, creating a fluid movement.

Troika explain the installation: “The ceiling architecture is set in motion and appears liquefied, changing the spatial experience of the corridor while opening up the surrounding architecture infinitely towards Lake Onatario.”
