Magazines Huck and Little White Lies have been given the David Carson treatment.

Creative agency The Church of London invited legendary typographer and designer David Carson to work his creative magic on the Jan/Feb 2011 covers of Huck and Little White Lies magazines.

At the Church of London it is a tradition that the covers of the last issues of the year of these two magazines have a visual relationship to each other, with the link being David Carson.

For the cover of Little White Lies Carson crafted something in response to creative director Paul Willoughby’s sketch of Natalie Portman on the cover. Carson used black foiled type across the whole cover, subverting the image and disrupting the usual placement of letters.

Huck, on the other hand, features a photograph of a snowboarder by Oskar Eneder. Carson skewed the barcode and gave the rest of the type the “undersigned” treatment.
