After completing her diploma in fashion design and technology, Kirsty Bannerman cut her teeth designing for a large South African fashion chain store. Following a couple of years travelling in London and India she returned to SA in 1999 and launched her own womenswear label, Coppelia. In January 2003 Bannerman opened her first boutique, Mememe, with partner Doreen Southwood. In March 2007 Bannerman opened
Mungo & Jemima with partner Marian Park-Ross of Good. Coppelia has regularly shown at SA Fashion Week and is passionate about creating timeless garments that are not dictated by fleeting fashion trends and always aim to make the wearer feel special.
