Born and Bred Design

The Born and Bred design philosophy is 'design for social change'. It is a product development consultancy with a primary focus on rural and urban craft development. The idea was borne out of the recognition that craft is an important, albeit marginal, source of income for many rural crafters. There was an urgent need for product development and the establishment of high-end markets, which resulted in 'Whichcraft', a product range that Born and Bred is launching in 2010. The range consists of craft items designed and developed over the years.
