Meet Design Indaba's Ravi Naidoo, the man who helped bring the World Cup to SA

Cape Talk Bruce Whitfield interviews Design Indaba creator, Ravi Naidoo.

Ravi Naidoo, creator of the Design Indaba Conference and its founding company Interactive Africa, annually brings the world’s top designers to Cape Town to celebrate the belief in a better world through creativity. Design Indaba added R1.7-billion to the economy in the last five years, according to the University of Stellenbosch.

Naidoo, a scientist by training, completed an MBA at UCT in 1994 where he was nominated for the Nedbank MBA Student of the Year award.

Naidoo’s brainchild, Interactive Africa, has managed high-profile projects such as the “First African in Space Mission” as well as the marketing and pitch for South Africa’s bid to host the 2010 Football World Cup. Naidoo, a travel and sports junky, has cleverly contrived to go to every major sports event in recent year.
