Work while you sleep

What if the energy you produce in bed can be used to power lights and devices? It might encourage more um… Tossing and turning in bed.

It is important to always be efficient and to make the most of our energy. So while most of us typically associate beds with relaxation, designer Arthur Xin has a different idea...

Xin has developed the Ecotypic Bed that, with the help of a battery under the bed, accumulates energy from the activities happening in and around the bed and converts it into electricity that can be used to power the LED reading lamps around the bed or the speakers that play soothing music. The LED lights help the plants surrounding the bed to grow too.

And just in case you have difficulty finding ways of generating energy in bed, there is also a selection of straps and “things” to really exercise with.
