Wear only ZA

Save jobs while looking fabulous! Be sure to Wear Only ZA every Friday, because South African fashion is where it’s at for Fashion Fridays.

At a lovely breakfast at the Birds Boutique Café in the city, the Cape Town Fashion Council (CTFC) launched the Wear Only ZA (WOZA) campaign earlier today.

In an attempt to reshape the South African fashion industry, CTFC have started the WOZA movement to endorse local fashion by encouraging more people to strut their stuff, SA-style.

Funded by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism in the Provincial Government of the Western Cape, WOZA serves the dual purposing of not only showcasing local fashion design but also hopes to kindle local demand to the point where jobs in the textile industry can be protected and more jobs created.

Part of the WOZA movement is to eavesdrop on how trendsetters on the street are wearing local fashion. WOZA’s recently launched website features a selection of snapshots, Satorialist-style, of people in the Mother City wearing local attire. Fashionistas, trendsters and anybody passionate about local fashion are encouraging to also submit pictures of themselves wearing South African design.

So leave the East behind, the Made in China label was never that cool anyway, look to the South for inspired fashion design of a high quality. Wear Only ZA.
