MGA – Michael Green Architecture aims to build the world’s tallest mass timber structure, a 55-storey skyscraper in Milwaukee. The ambitious project aims to spotlight eco-friendly building processes and showcase the possibilities of sustainable, mass timber construction practices.
The proposed project is part of the ‘The Marcus Performing Arts Center redevelopment project’ which is transforming underutilized city space into functional spaces for residents. The landmark skyscraper is said to include up to 750 residential units, 190,000 square feet of office space, 40,000 square feet of retail space, 300 hotel rooms, parking spaces, and vibrant public plazas and walkways.
The visionary projects weaves together a new wave of eco-building technology and urban acupuncture principles to transform existing city precincts into multi-functional, high density, low carbon spaces that contribute to the well-being of the community. “This project is an opportunity to create a meaningful and valuable new center in Milwaukee that also advances important proven building technologies and designs for the future of humanity and our planet,” said MGA founder and architect Michael Green.
