Shot by ubiquitous Cape Town photographer Kent Andreasen, the latest lookbook from Adriaan Kuiters and Jody Paulsen’s AKJP brand is a clean and minimal presentation of a collection inspired by an era of hedonism. Designed by Ben Johnson, the Spring/Summer 2017 campaign images convey a bold simplicity that rings true for the popular local brand.

“The collection is inspired by a series of photographs by Helmut Newton,” AKJP designer Keith Hennings told Elle South Africa. “Newton’s 1970s erotic poolside images features iconic designers such as Halston and Pucci. We were inspired by Newton’s juxtaposition of sophisticated leisurely resort wear and the decadence of the seventies era.”

The brand’s SS ‘17 collection is beautifully simple, muted in colour, and refreshingly breathable. Featuring pajama-style silk trousers, loose-fitting slip dresses and asymmetrical stripes, it's quiet sophistication is expertly captured through Andreason’s sharp imagery.

AKJP designs are available for purchase at the AKJP Collective concept store in Kloof Street, Cape Town, as well as online at adriaankuiters.com
