Social farmwork

Hyperlocavore.com is a yardsharing social networking site launched by Liz McLellan. Aimed at setting up communities of yard-farmers, the site connects potential farmers with owners of wanton gardens and also encourages crop exchange between neighbours. One person in the community may have a peach tree, another a fig tree and another a strawberry patch – with all three exchanging excess harvests, all three can enjoy fruit salad. Although still largely representative of the United States, the network allows users from across the world to start their own hyperlocal communities.
