The search of the self in relation to figurative painting has been a constant motive in the work of Spanish painter and filmmaker Manolo Belzunce, and South African multi-disciplinary artist Kagiso Pat Mautloa.
An exhibition at the Resolution Gallery in Cape Town, which runs until 5 May 2011, showcases the work of both these artists with their unequivocal styles and careers over almost four decades.
Together with the search for the nature of the self and the process of drawing, the naked body and their own symbolism is also explored in the work.
