Romanian-born jewellery designer Alina Alamorean’s work is like a burst of energy, reflecting things both earthy and heavenly.
Her creations are influenced by her interest in art, sculpture and architecture, resulting in unconventional pieces that manage to capture a spirit of rebellion infused with the right amount of emotion.
"Ars Metallica" is her latest body of work, currently on show at Galerie BSL in Paris.
Of her work she says: “My jewellery is always voluminous: the pieces can be envisaged infinitely larger still, like geometrical and voluptuous objects. I do not want to adorn anyone, I do however aim to inspire a way of thinking, living and breathing.”
The crude and rough surfaces of the pieces in the Ars Metallica range are balanced with polished and sensual outlines, while her gold and silver creations always assume a protective weight. Alamorean leaves stones in their natural state, allowing the true character to come to the fore.
