From the Series
The ability to repair something that is broken is a way of exercising control over our material world, says Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Eugenia Morpurgo.
If consumers understand how things are made to function then they will also be able to better manage their waste by trying to fix something, rather than simply discarding of it.
Morpurgo’s Repair "It Yourself" project is a kit for making and repairing your own shoes. The canvas shoes can be assembled with reversible, mechanical fastenings, rather than the glue or stitchings ordinarily used in this process.
The repair kit can also be used to fix various household objects.
