Graphic design meets craftsmanship in Russian artist Aske’s Plywood artworks.

Inspired by mosaics and stained glass windows, Moscow-based artist Aske created a series of six plywood artworks.

Created for the annual Faces and Laces Street Culture Show, which took place in Moscow from 3 to 4 June 2011, the works were an exploration into the volume of materials.

Aske creative process takes a sheet of plywood onto which he transposes a drawing. The individual pieces of the drawing are then cut out, re-assembled and painted in acrylics before being mounted.
