Pivoting the Peninsula

Gansevoort Peninsula Park set to be the largest single green space in Hudson River Park.

The 2nd half of 2021 will see work start on Manhattan’s first public beach construction, combining waterfront access for the public with the largest single green space in Hudson River Park.

The 5,5 acre Gansevoort Peninsula Park is a USD$70 Million project that will include lawns, seating, sports field, dog run, picnic area, public art and even a sandy beach where you can go kayaking.

“Built on solid ground (as opposed to a pier), Gansevoort will be developed into a large green oasis, complete with a resilient “beach” on the southern side that will provide river access to kayakers and other small boaters, as well as a place for lounging and river views.”
