Taking art out of the gallery and into the streets of both city and township, "Paste" is a street art exhibition curated by SJ Artists and Between 10and5, happening in Khayelitsha today and early next week.

Some 15 Cape Town artists have been selected to design, illustrate or photograph work around the theme of “Khayelitsha Culture”. The works are being turned into large-scale wheat pastes that will be put up in public spaces around Khayelitsha and in the Cape Town CBD.

At its core, "Paste" is about spreading the word of art to different cultures and communities and to allow these communities greater access to art.

Creatives involved in "Paste" includes Simon Berndt of One Horse Town, Paul Ward, Lauren Fowler, Jonx Pillemer, Black Koki, Chris Slabber and Fuzzy Slipperz.

Anybody who is keen to get involved can contact Shani Judes. Check out her website for more details.
