Over the rainbow

Creations this colourful can't not make one smile. And what makes it even better is that it removes plastic pollution from beaches.

Beautiful as her colourful creations are, it is sad to know that it takes Liz Jones of Betty Jo Designs in Melbourne, Australia, just a 20-minute stroll down to the beach to collect enough waste materials for her Rubbish Rainbows.

Jones collects and recycles all kinds of materials, from cigarette lighters to washing pegs, bottle caps and all the plastic in between. She then uses these materials, which would otherwise pollute the beach, and turns it into interesting, vibrant pieces of art and jewellery.
