Moving craft

BarberOsgerby's "Ascent" collection of work at the Frieze Art Fair in London is inspired by the duo's interest in moving craft.

BarberOsgerby present “Ascent”, an eight piece collection of work for the Haunch of Venison at the Frieze Art Fair in London.

Referring to moving craft, "Ascent" is inspired by the structures and engineered forms of mobile crafts. The kind of structures and forms that BarberOsgerby refer to as “hidden design”, which they have been aware of since watching aeroplanes and sailing boats in childhood.

Ascent includes the fin-like “Foil V”, a wall-mounted brass structure, the angular "Planform Array V", an angular hanging chandelier and the "Corona 800" and "Corona 1100, two large round discs that emit light. One Corona is made from mirror-polished brass while the other is brilliantly" coloured. These can be viewed with a vertical wall-mounted, mirror-polished brass panel.
