Modular Dorms

FullStack, Steinberg-Hart and California Polytechnic State University partner to address the student housing crisis in California.

FullStack Modular is pioneering modular construction, which involves prefabricating building components off-site and assembling them on-site. The modular construction  process is designed to reduce construction time, disruptions to neighbourhoods, costs and lessen the burden of environmental impact. The rapid deployment and cost efficiency, makes the modular construction process a viable solution for affordable/low-cost housing solutions.

FullStack are partnering with California Polytechnic State University to roll-out their Future Housing Plan, which will see the deployment of 4200 dorms which will be constructed using the modular approach. California is currently in the midst of a student housing crisis affecting more than 400,000 students statewide. The project is designed by Steinberg Hart and is set commence over the next five years, which will see nine new eight- and nine-story buildings fabricated and installed to address the shortage of housing.

FullStack’s innovative approach to modular construction features an all-steel approach which  enables the buildings to reach up to nine stories while enhancing fire safety and simplifying the integration of energy-efficient features that meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification standards.
