Dutch designe,r Meerel Slootheer’s Pharma project places pills at the centre of laser-cut bug sculptures to draw attention to the experience of being placed on medication and the effects it has on society.

The project, called “Insecta-Pharma” was launched in 2013 as a autobiographical research project. The book highlights the prevalence of prescription drugs, which have become as common as insects. It was inspired by Slootheer’s own health journey that prompted this investigation into prescription medication.
