Armenian photographer Karen Khachaturov creates surreal landscapes in pure pastel colours. Often hiding the faces of the people who inhabit these worlds, her images mix the mundane with the unexpected. She has been developing her conceptual style over the past year. These images come from a few of her recent series on maids, suppers, courts and play.
“My latest concept is mostly showing lost people without a clue that they are surrounded with a colourful life," says Khachaturov. "And I tried to show this in different circumstances.”
The disorientating and peaceful scenes show something of the photographers vision of the world.
