Returning to a more minimalist approach, Cape Town-based jewellery designer Anna Raimondo has launched Grafica, a breezy collection of jewels inspired by different geometric shapes and a passion for simplicity and elegance.
Grafica’s materials include gold plated brass, sterling silver, semi/precious stones and rose gold plated copper. Every piece is handmade at the SMITH studio, giving each accessory a unique character. The collection consists of delicate and understated earrings, pendants, chokers and necklaces.
“I designed these pieces to be subtle enough to wear every day but still visually striking enough to make a statement when worn,” says Raimondo of the Grafica line. “Most of the pieces are mismatched or can be worn various ways.”
Grafica is perfect for those who love original jewellery craft. Having studied Jewellery Design & Gemmology at Stellenbosch University and completed a design course in Milan soon after, Raimondo takes inspiration from her many travels around the world. She started SMITH Jewellery in 2010 and has since then become a leading light in South Africa's jewellery industry.
“I like to create jewellery that tells a story, that is unique and that I would like to wear myself,” says Raimondo.
