Finding beauty in irregularity, Nendo’s Press Lamps light up any room with an unusual glow.
Japanese design studio Nendo has designed a range of lamps for glass masters Lasvit. The lamps represent a brand new and unusual technique in hand-blown glass.
Press Lamps appear to be pinched near the top, resulting in a lampshade that forms an irregular structure and light illumination.
In the design, glass tubes are pressed as though they have been pinched, and the light source is fitted into the narrowed space that results, says Lasvit.
Unusual in the fact that it does not rely on a metal form, the compression of glass produces a soft, organic form and instils each lamp with an authentic and one-of-a-kind shape.
Available in either a pendant lamp or a floor lamp, the lights are sure to add a glamorous edge to any space.
