From the Series
Lilypad by architect Vincent Callebaut is a floating ecopolis for climate refugees in 2100. The biotechnological prototype will travel on the water line of the oceans, from the equator to the poles, following the ascending warm streams such as the Gulf Stream and descending cold streams such as the Labrador. A half-aquatic and half-terrestrial city able to accommodate 50 000 inhabitants, three marinas and three mountains are dedicated to work, shops and entertainment. Biodiversity of fauna and flora is developed around the immersed lagoon of soft water collected from rain.
