Hormone levels play a crucial role in overall health, impacting stress, sleep, athletic performance, and fertility. Traditionally, monitoring these levels required invasive blood tests and long wait times for lab results. Canadian startup Eli Health aims to change that with the Hormometer, an innovative at-home hormone testing device.
The compact device, resembling a pregnancy test stick, used similarly to a thermometer - users place it in their mouth for 60 seconds to collect a saliva sample. The Hormometer then displays the results in its built-in window, while the companion Eli app analyzes the data using the smartphone’s camera.
Initially, the device measures cortisol and progesterone levels, offering real-time insights into hormonal balance. It is FDA-registered, and third-party evaluations show a 97% accuracy for cortisol and 94% for progesterone compared to standard lab tests. Eli Health also plans to expand its capabilities to include testosterone testing in the future.
With a subscription starting at $8 per month (with a 12-month commitment), the Hormometer provides an affordable, convenient, and non-invasive alternative to traditional lab testing—empowering users to take control of their well-being.
