Handling pressure

A new innovation allows people to monitor their blood pressure using their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

French designers Eliumstudio have designed a connected blood pressure monitor that allows individuals to track and measure their own blood pressure levels with the help of an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

The connected blood pressure monitor for French company Withings is an armband, like conventional blood pressure monitors, but only comes to life and functions when connected to your iPhone, iPad or iPod.

More than simply giving a once-off blood pressure reading, the Withings blood pressure monitor records the measurements, calculates the averages and traces a graph of your blood pressure. This makes it easy for an individual to measure their own blood pressure and easy to share results with a doctor.

The armband comes encased in soft leather and inflates at the touch of a button on the iPhone, iPad or iPod. Eliumstudio also worked to reduce the weight, complex functions and restraints of the device.
