It is often said that our future will be determined by our ability to redesign the way we currently do things.
Since 2010 design and innovation consultants Seymourpowell have been working with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to develop the Design Lab series of workshops and events for students. The initiative is in line with the concept of redesigning processes.
Design Pro was the first facilitated workshop and encouraged students to examine the design process of the kettle. As a universal device the kettle required students to consider everything from research to ethnography and idea generation
The work designed in response to the brief can be seen in an exhibition, Design Lab, Designing the Future, at the Sackler Centre at the museum until September 2011.
