There are some pretty nifty folding chair designs around but this one definitely deserves a special mention. It’s not everyday that you see something that can go “from envelope to design chair in 10 seconds”.
Flux Furniture’s Flux Chair appears to be able to do just that. Seen at the Milan Furniture Fair last month, the Flux Chair integrates good design with the benefits of foldable furniture. In its folded state the Flux Chair is both easy to carry and easy to store while it takes just a few simple actions to turn this plastic envelope into a stylish seat.
Ideal for use outdoors, the Flux Chair has been tested to hold 160kg. Flux Furniture aimed to create a chair that would also be effortless to recycle, that’s why the links are intelligently integrated into the construction allowing the entire chair to be made from a single component and material type.
The Flux Chair is available in eight different colours and weighs just over 4kg. Useful accessories include Flux Chair cushions in four different colours and a handy storage system which allows you to hang and stores up to six chairs.
