Lego has unveiled its new Architecture Skyline Collection – a kit packed with building blocks and directions to erect miniature replicas of famous buildings from New York, Venice and Berlin.
The New York city collection includes building blocks to build miniature versions of the Flatiron building, the Empire State building, the Chrysler Building, the Statue of Liberty and the newly opened One World Trade Centre.
The Venice collection includes St. Mark’s Basilica, Rialto Bridge, St. Theodore and the Winged Lion of St. Mark, St. Mark’s Campanile, and the Bridge of Sighs. The Berlin collection pays homage to the Reichstag, the Victory Column, the Deutsche Bahn Tower, the Berlin TV Tower, and the Brandenburg Gate.
The kit includes a booklet on the architectural history of each landmark. Although the toy company has an Architecture Studio kit, which is endlessly customisable because it comes with 1210 monochrome bricks and no instructions, a Lego skyline is a first for the toy company.
Lego already produces replicas of iconic buildings such as the United Nations headquarters, the Louvre and the White House.
The Architecture Skyline Collection will officially launch on January 1.
