With RCA Black, the Royal College of Art presents the first-ever exhibition of work by students of African and African Caribbean descent.

RCA Black is an exhibition celebrating art and design by African and African Caribbean students and graduates at the Royal College of Art (RCA).

Presented by the RCA and the African and African Caribbean Design Diaspora (AACDD), the exhibition takes place from 31 August to 6 September 2011.

RCA Black will bring together the multidisciplinary practices of the RCA’s African and African Caribbean from both past and present, including David Adjaye and painter Chris Ofili.

The exhibition will feature the work of 23 artists, designers and makers of African and African Caribbean descent,including bespoke tailor Charlie Allen; photographer Eileen Perrier; painters Chris Ofili and Frank Bowling RA; contemporary artists Harold Offeh and Faisal Abdu’Allah; silversmith Ndidi Ekubia and designer Simone Brewster.
