Colours catch the eye and patterns collide as Jaime Hayón pays homage to the Spanish landscape in his new collection of tiles for manufacturer BISAZZA.
From grassy greens to rustic reds and mild mustards, Hayón’s use of colour results in a vibrant collection that carries his bold but whimsical design stamp.
The distinguishing element of the collection is the Spanish designer's skillful use of graphic patterns. As the tiles are aligned, the resulting patterns create multiple texture possibilities. “A simple flip of the tiles gives you the power to create your own enchanting landscape,” says Hayón.
The BISAZZA Hayón Tiles collection is made up of five different designs: Compas, Lunsa, Plisados, Semillas and Perlas, all of which reference Spain's natural landscape.
The verdant hills of Galicia, the citrus-fragranced boulevards of Valencia and the twinkling stars of the deep Mediterranean are references in the collection, says Hayón.
Each tile is made by hand using high-strength cement combined with coloured oxides.
