Inspired by the bad habits of their college student sons, the two women behind Beantown Bedding have designed disposable sheets that can be used for a few weeks and then thrown in the compost.

The textile used in the Laundry-Free Linen sheets is made from innovative botanic fibres and is comfortable, clean and completely biodegradable.

While FastCo Exist warns that using disposable bed sheets on a long-term basis is not more planet-friendly than washing normal cotton because of the water required to grow the fibres, there are certain applications for which the Beantown Bedding products might be invaluable: for the traveller, refugee, disaster relief shelter and medical facilities, as well as organisations or individuals involved in the hospitality industry.
