Day three snapshot

The final day of Design Indaba Conference brought architecture, art, Danish design, music and happiness to the stage.

Day three of Design Indaba took the audience on a rollercoaster ride – from a surprise appearance by Yvonne Chaka Chaka (for Goodbye Malaria) to architecture and education in Ivory Coast; the firebrands of South African art (in the form of 89plus) to David Goldblatt's lifetime dedication to photography; Dean Poole's wordplay and a diverse array of Danish design to Stefan Sagmeister's foray into happiness. Other highlights included the presentation of the Innovation Award to Shonaquip for their Madiba2Go Postural Seating Device, El Ultimo Grito's living furniture and Naoto Fukasawa's design "Without Thought".

Design Indaba Conference 2014 ended on a high note with "happy" trending on Twitter and the audience belting out Sagmeister's composition about clients to the tune of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, "Ode to Joy."
