Heinrich Wolff: Architecture can make the world a better place

For Heinrich Wolff the role of architecture involves developing an agenda for social change.

With architecture as a force for social change in societies where inequality is rife, Heinrich Wolff believes architecture needs to be both engaged and autonomous. He talks about working in the South African context, saying:

Our generation is certainly tasked with turning around the injustices of the past.

Wolff shows examples of his work that manage to achieve this. These include urban homes, schools in disadvantaged communities and hospitals.

People are expecting real change real fast, says Wolff.
