On Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2025 (GAAD; 15 May 2025) the digital platform Visible Voices launched their mission to reframe disability as a source of creativity and culture instead of a shortcoming or limitation. Visible Voices, described as an amalgamation of magazine, gallery and e-shop creates a vibrant digital space that challenges traditional perceptions of disabilities.
Co-founded by journalist Bérénice Magistretti and creative entrepreneur Reuben Selby—both of whom live with invisible disabilities—the platform embodies the inclusive, editorial spirit they felt was missing in mainstream media. Visible Voices is reshaping how disability is seen and celebrated. “We’re approaching disability through the lenses of industries rooted in aesthetics—fashion, art, beauty, photography, and design—so we begin to associate disability with what is beautiful, powerful, and aspirational,” explains CEO Bérénice Magistretti. Drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of Vogue and the curatorial approach of MoMA, Visible Voices is a cultural rebrand and design manifesto that is as visually compelling as it is radically inclusive. At its core, the platform is more than a publication or shop—it’s a creative ecosystem designed to empower people with disabilities to thrive.
With its launch, Visible Voices invites audiences to celebrate disability not as a limitation, but as a dynamic and integral part of human diversity, offering a fresh perspective that blends accessibility with aesthetics.
