Most partnerships don’t work. For the time that you have worked together, what are the challenges you’ve encountered and what is the secret to working together as artists?
From our experience most partnerships actually do work, it is just not always apparent that there is a partnership at work. One challenge was to learn each other’s language, as we are all coming from different backgrounds. As for the rest, don’t take yourself too seriously and trust that the people you are working with, want the best for the project as much as you do.
What is CNC?
CNC means computer numerical controlled (machine tools). In our talk we were referring to the fact that we originally considered using five-axis CNC milling machine to create the body of The Cloud.
Troika, your cloud also looks a bit like a futuristic space ship, also very appropriate for an airport and travel. Fantastic!

The Cloud is suspended with two wires from two structural beams of the Terminal.
Have you developed the Newton Virus for Snow Leopard yet?
We are working on it.
When you have a client as “corporate” as British Airways, for example, how difficult do you find the “sell” of your ideas?
That differs from client to client and highly depends on the specific person you are dealing with within the corporation. It also depends on how much time you invest in explaining your idea to the client. In our case Artwise Curators, who have curated British Airways’s art collection over the past 10 years, were highly instrumental in the process.
Where can we see The Cloud video?
When can I buy a cloud for my home?
We are working on it ;)
To Troika, Michael Bierut, Stefan G Bucher and Harry Pearce: How important is the skill of drawing to graphic design?
A picture is worth a thousand words. Drawing teaches you to look at an object carefully and is at the same time an essential tool to formulate and communicate your ideas. This is true for every discipline, not just graphic design.
