South African artists' portfolio

David Goldblatt, Zanele Muholi and Nandipha Mntambo will grace the DI 2014 stage. Here's a look at their work. Please note: this gallery contains nudity.

Three of South Africa's most renowned photographers and visual artists will grace the stage at Design Indaba Conference 2014.

Nandipha Mntambo is a South African artist and 2011 winner of the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for Visual Art. 

David Goldblatt is a South African photographer and the first South African to be given a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. During his almost 50 years as a photographer he was won numerous honours and awards including the 2006 Hasselblad award, the 2009 Henri Cartier-Bresson Award and the 2013 ICP Infinity Award. 

Zanele Muholi is a visual activist raising awareness around gender, race and human rights. In 2013 she won the Index on Censorship – Freedom of Expression arts award, the Fine Prize for an emerging artist at the 2013 Carnegie International and the Prince Claus Award, as one of eleven 2013 Prince Claus Laureates.

These three phenomenal artists will be part of the programme of Design Indaba Conference 2014.
