Free education

Coursera.com is an online platform that is bringing world-class education to millions globally, for free!

How would you like to learn from today’s superstars of education? Getting the necessary skills to follow your dreams, or simply learn something new… It’s possible with Coursera.com’s free online courses.

Coursera.com, founded by Daphne Koller and Andrew Ng, professor and associate professor of Computer Science at Stanford University respectively, is partnering with leading establishments, including Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Columbia and 60 other premium US and international institutions and universities to offer free educational courses, which can be accessed all around the world.

Covering a wide range of topics spanning Humanities, Medicine, Biology, Social Sciences, Mathematics, Business, Computer Science and many more, each course starts at a basic level with the option to advance to more dense and in-depth courses. Taking between eight and 12 weeks to complete, each learner is encouraged to learn at their own pace, and at a time that suits them best.

All classes offered on Coursera.com are designed to help the learner master the material. So classes include watching lectures by world-class professors, testing learner knowledge and reinforcing concepts through interactive exercises. When a course is finished, learners receive recognition that they completed the course successfully.

Coursera.com’s vision for the future is to see everyone having access to world-class education that has so far only been available to a select few. The online platform further aims to empower people through education that will improve their lives, the lives of their families, and the communities they live in.

Coursera.com is a finalist in the Play category of the INDEX: Award 2013.
