Lulama Wolf and Bang & Olufsen collaborate for the ‘Art of A9’ series.

The award winning Lulama ‘Wolf’ Mlambo, South African visual artist has become the first South African artist to collaborate with the iconic Danish brand Bang & Olufsen for their ‘Art of A9’ series.

 

The series which turns the Beosound A9 speaker into a canvas, commissioning some of the world’s most captivating visual artists to create limited edition artworks, available in small batches local to each participating artist. The series has previously featured artistic works from celebrated visionaries such as John Legend, David Lynch and  Stine Goya.

 

Spotlighted at Design Indaba, Lulama Wolf is an award-winning  South African designer who gained notoriety in the genre of Modern African art and Neoexpressionism, is the first artist from the country to participate in the series, a landmark achievement.

 

Known for her use of colour, texture and movement – Lulama Wolf’s work is influenced by the classical theme of art music – a fitting collaboration for the art meet sounds project. “I was looking for simple things that bring you joy in so many ways,” says Wolf. “The femininity in jazz and dance, and the improvisation of its heartbeat, all come together in this piece.”The resulting piece is unique, contemporary expression of modern African art.
