In her work as eating designer Marije Vogelzang considers the psychological aspects of eating. Her designs are about the experience of eating. She asks questions around food that involve design and creates project that looks at what happens when people share food with others. Vogelzang believes that food has the ability to help create understanding between people of different social groups.
Vogelzang has a love for “plain and pure” food and believes there’s a challenge in being creative and innovative with the food we have.
Eating design can sometimes help to bring out the child in somebody, Marije Vogelzang discovers. It can also help to trigger memories in people, and Vogelzang explores some of the possibilities this entails.
