Waved seat

Patricia Urquiola's new Mafalda armchair uses moulding technology to create a soft shell - and the materials used in the production are recycled and recyclable.

From the Series

With a reinterpretation of the backrest and upholstery, the Mafalda armchair and small armchair by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso is a new concept in wood-framed seating.

The chair takes on a wave-like form, resulting from the new moulding technology that wasused to create the shell. Mafalda’s shell was created with materials that are both recycled and recyclable, with the added benefit that it is soft to the touch.

While the geometry of the wood is quite hard and angular, it is offset by the soft, “waved” design of the seat.
