Somewhat tongue-in-cheek, San Francisco-based artist Tucker Nichols created an op-art piece for the New York Times recently.
The artwork offers the US Post Office some ideas for tag lines that might help them to get people to rethink the use and value of snail mail. Though it’s probably a though nod to crack in the age of increasingly efficient internet and email.
But truth is, the post office has been “keeping it real since everything was real” so they probably know what they’re doing. Or it might be worth trying to entice people with “lickable stamps are back”.
If all else fails, try a romantic or nostalgic sentiment: “Wish you were here and wanted to send a letter to there”. Or do something that night be seen as more worthy: “Save the economy send a postcard.”
