Some people will also hold onto certain pieces of clothing, even if they don’t wear it anymore, for a reason usually related to a fond emotion.
Considering this occurance, designer Tobias Juretzek set about exploring this relationship of appreciation, separation and continuous reinvention people have with their clothing.
His experimentation resulted in the Rememberme chair. The chair brings old clothing (with sentimental value) to life again as the key material comprising the chair.
About six kilograms of clothing is pressed into each chair. Each item is soaked in resin before being compressed in a mould to dry. And it’s sturdy, with the ability to carry the weight of an adult.
