It's a mad world

The Sifting Through the Madness exhibition is currently showing at Salon91 Contemporary Art Collection in Kloof Street, Cape Town.

A mixed medium exhibition Sifting Through the Madness is currently showing at Salon91 Contemporary Art Collection in Kloof Street, Cape Town.

“Sifting through the madness, for the word, the line, the way” draws it inspiration from a poem by Charles Bukowski. Neither Shakespeare nor Mickey Spillane is a poem about a writer’s struggle for professional survival, much like that experienced by artists. It refers to the challenges experienced by artists across all genres across the globe.

The exhibition also refers to the conceptual process by which artworks are produced. In this case: Six artists working in a medium of their choice, six Bukowski poems, 36 individual artworks and one collaborative title piece.

 Artists:

  • Andrew Sutherland
  • Paul Senyol
  • Candice Jezek
  • Jade Klara
  • Daniel Ting Chong
  • Gabrielle Raaff

The exhibition runs until 22 May 2010
