Hope is the thing with feathers

Jaime Hayón's Hope Bird stands tall, with its eyes on the horizon to symbolise an optimistic approach to what lies ahead.

Jaime Hayón has designed a series of porcelain birds that symbolise the importance of remaining optimistic.

The Spanish designer who was named one of the 100 most relevant creators of our time by Time magazine, collaborated with Design-Apart, a platform that brings bespoke Italian design to international customers, who launch a limited-edition artistic series of objects.

Hayón is the first designer they invited to create a limited number artistic collection. The result is Hope Bird, comprising 15 identical ceramic birds made in Italy and individually hand painted with a unique design, capturing the bold-yet-whimsical imagery inherent in Hayón's work as well as his attention to detail.

The 15-piece collection of quirky tabletop sculptures will be on display and available for pre-purchase at Design-Apart’s New York showroom. The online sale will open on 12 December 2013.
