Dutch nostalgia

Studio Tjep. will infuse Milan with symbols of Dutch nostalgia during the 2013 Milan Furniture Fair.

From the Series

Infusing Milan with “tjepology”, Tjep. will highlight Dutch nostalgia through the official launch of an extended furniture collection.

Amsterdam-based design studio Tjep. will be exhibiting the “Hendrick’s Collection” as well as the “Il Treno” collection as part of their Future Nostalgia exhibition during Milan Furniture Fair 2013.

Known for designing for those who seek to rediscover individualism, the design studio will present a timeless furniture range that enhances their reputation for creative innovation across a broad field of design expertise.

The “Hendrick’s Collection” is a contemporary furniture range inspired by the trappings of bygone days and pays homage to Dutch winter landscapes through its immaculate symbolic representation of snow sleighs. The collection embodies a juxtaposition of old and new brought together in solidly handcrafted Ash or Oak wood.

“Il Treno” is a daring standalone piece, which creates a dining experience reminiscent of an old Oriental Express train compartment. The collection draws on ideas of intimacy and romanticism and evokes the image of fine dining while being transported to new landscapes. The modular unit is available in Ash or Oak wood with the option of a built in storage unit for fine-china pieces.

Tjep. will further launch “Body Graffiti”, a selection of artworks from one of the world’s most secretive street artists.

Future Nostalgia will be on display at the Ventura Lambrate area of Milan Furniture Fair from 9 to 14 April 2013.
