All that glitters is gold

A unique collection of gold jewellery, by South African designers, can be seen at the Gold of Africa Museum and Design Indaba Expo.

From the Series

The African Goldsmith Collective, founded by Heidi Liebenberg, will be showing a collection of exclusive gold jewellery at the Gold of Africa Museum in Cape Town from 19 to 22 February, from where it will then move onto Design Indaba Expo from 25 to 27 February.

See Frieda Lühl’s simple designs, affectionately crafted to perfection, using natural materials. Maike Valcarcel’s out-the-box contemporary jewellery can also be sampled. Her work, which celebrates joy and individuality, is a combination of silver, gold, pebbles and felt.

The hand-crafted art jewellery of Firepetals adds flair to the collection on show while Amulet’s use of metal techniques emphasises the creative ways in which precious metals and gemstones can be used. Urbanative’s jewellery for urban natives can also be seen at the Gold on Africa Museum.

See Urbanative on stand 1601, Maike Valcercel on stand 1064, Firepetals on stand 1625 and Frieda Lühl on stand 1602 at Design Indaba Expo from 25 to 27 February 2011.
