Thabiso Joyisa has taken on an ambitious task. He wants to build a new School of Architecture at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa.
The school is a collaborative project between students and professionals. It’s the result of the student organisation that Joyisa established at the university called Level Six.
The student movement aims to transform the current academic and social spaces in their architecture department.
“The problem lies fundamentally with the lack of a studio culture which inhibits the interaction between students of the respective years,” he explains.
